Tony Elumelu Foundation Business Grant Opens [FREE GUIDE INCLUDED]

The Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) hosted by the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) which grants young businesses fund started in 2015 and has been awarded to 3000 business already.

Mr Tony Elumelu is a delta born Nigerian with Nigerian National Honours of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), and Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) and has been recognized as one of “Africa’s 20 Most Powerful People in 2012” 

A graduate of Ambrose Alli University, University of Lagos and also did the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

He bought Standard Trust Bank and in 2005, led the acquisition of United Bank for Africa.

After retirement from UBA in 2010, he founded Heirs Holdings.


Heirs Holdings is an investment firm with interests in financial services, real estate, healthcare, energy, hospitality, and agribusiness.

His most popular investment seems to be his controlling interest in Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (TRANSCORP).

He has shown huge in philanthropy through the Tony Elumelu Foundation which hosts the entrepreneurship programme.

The foundation has set aside $100 million for 10,000 businesses in a 10 years time frame.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation funds is undergoing its 4th cycle as the previous three cycles have awarded 3000 young businesses $5000 as grants for their business.

What you stand to gain from the foundation includes:

  • Mentoring: You will be given a top business mentor who will aid you in your entrepreneurial journey.
  • Training: 12 weeks of heavy online training.
  • Network: Access to the TEF network all over the world will be granted you so you don’t have to walk the walk alone.
  • Funding: $5000 grant as well access to another $5000 loan if you so desire.

To be eligible, you must fall under these categories:

  • The business must be based in Africa
  • The business must be for profit
  • The business must be 0-3 years old
  • Applicants must be at least 18 and a legal resident or citizen of an African country
